Level progression adds one standard showcase slot at each ten-level boundary.
Steam unlocks the first standard profile showcase at level 10 and another at each ten-level boundary. Level 100 provides 10; level 200 reaches the standard 20-showcase cap.
How many Steam profile showcases does each level unlock?
Divide the account level by ten and round down, up to the standard cap of 20. Level 50 has five showcase slots, level 100 has ten, and level 200 has twenty. A separate additional showcase can be available through the Points Shop.
| Level | Total XP | Card sets | Min. games | Friend slots | Showcases |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 0 | 0 | 0 | 0 | 250 | 0 |
| 10 | 1,000 | 10 | 2 | 300 | 1 |
| 20 | 3,000 | 30 | 6 | 350 | 2 |
| 30 | 6,000 | 60 | 12 | 400 | 3 |
| 50 | 15,000 | 150 | 30 | 500 | 5 |
| 75 | 32,000 | 320 | 64 | 625 | 7 |
| 100 | 55,000 | 550 | 110 | 750 | 10 |
| 150 | 120,000 | 1,200 | 240 | 1,000 | 15 |
| 200 | 210,000 | 2,100 | 420 | 1,250 | 20 |
Which target makes sense for a profile?
Level 10 is enough to feature one deliberate centerpiece. Level 30 supports a small layout with three sections. Level 50 gives five slots, which covers most profiles without the much larger level 100 workload.
Level 100 is mainly a collector or design milestone. It needs 550 standard crafts from zero, compared with 150 for level 50. Use the calculator to compare your actual account gap.
What can a showcase display?
Available showcase types depend on Steam’s current profile system and account activity. Common uses include achievements, rare items, screenshots, artwork, reviews, workshop items, favorite games and badges. A slot provides a section; some Points Shop upgrades increase the number of items inside a section.
Plan the content before buying levels. Ten empty showcase slots do less for a profile than three sections with a clear visual order.
How should you design a showcase layout?
Choose one primary section for the content that identifies the account: favorite game, artwork, achievements or rare items. Use later slots to support that theme. A profile with unrelated sections can feel busier as more slots unlock, so level alone does not improve presentation.
Prepare the assets before choosing a target. Check image dimensions, screenshot visibility, workshop ownership and whether the relevant showcase type is available to the account. Steam can moderate or remove community content independently of the profile level.
Showcase milestones and workload
The set requirement grows much faster than the showcase count. Level 10 needs 10 sets from zero for one showcase. Level 50 needs 150 sets for five. Level 100 needs 550 for ten, and level 200 needs 2,100 sets for twenty.
That means showcases 6–10 cost 400 additional sets after level 50, while showcases 11–20 cost 1,550 additional sets after level 100. Choose the number of sections you can actually use rather than assuming the largest layout is automatically better.
Why is a showcase missing after leveling?
Confirm that the account reached the exact multiple of ten and reload the profile editor. Partial XP inside level 9 does not unlock the level-10 slot. If the slot exists but a showcase type is unavailable, that type may require qualifying content or a Points Shop purchase.
Profile privacy can also hide the content from visitors even when the owner sees it. Check the profile and relevant game-details visibility from a signed-out browser before treating the layout as finished.
How does the Points Shop affect the total?
Steam has offered an additional showcase through the Points Shop and upgrades for certain showcase types. Points purchases follow their own rules and do not add badge XP. Read the current listing before treating a Points Shop option as permanent.
The all-perks guide separates showcase benefits from friend slots and booster odds.
How should you plan the XP?
Choose the number of showcase sections first, multiply the desired count by ten to find the level boundary, then calculate from the account’s current XP. Partial progress inside a level matters, which is why public-profile lookup gives a more exact result than level numbers alone.
